Novo Nordisk leaked data reveals ranking of Danish healthcare professionals

Leaked data from pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk has revealed an internal system used to track and rank approximately 46,000 healthcare professionals. According to reports from Ingeniøren, the data includes a list of about 7,000 Danish doctors and nurses who were ranked based on their commercial value to the company.

The ranking system appears to categorize medical staff according to their likelihood of prescribing Novo Nordisk’s high-revenue products, such as Ozempic and Wegovy. The leaked information suggests the company has systematically mapped healthcare workers who act as loyal advocates for these specific medications.

Karsten Juhl Jørgensen, a professor at the University of Southern Denmark, noted that while the practice may be surprising to the Danish public due to Novo Nordisk’s reputation, such sales strategies are common in the industry. Novo Nordisk has declined to verify the authenticity of the material, stating that it originates from an illegal intrusion into their systems.
