Novo Nordisk partners with AWS for AI drug discovery center

Novo Nordisk has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to establish an AI innovation center in London. The collaboration aims to accelerate drug discovery and development by combining AWS's artificial intelligence technologies, such as Amazon Bio Discovery and Amazon Bedrock, with Novo Nordisk's pharmaceutical data and expertise.

The center will host engineers and scientists from both companies to identify drug targets more quickly and structure clinical trials more efficiently. This move follows similar industry trends, including Novo Nordisk's previously announced cooperation with OpenAI and Bristol Myers Squibb's partnership with Anthropic.

Separately, Novo Nordisk confirmed that its multi-billion Danish krone share buyback program is proceeding as planned. While Bernstein raised its price target for Novo Nordisk to 203 Danish kroner due to the inclusion of the late-stage candidate Coramitug in its valuation models, the firm maintained an ‘Underperform’ rating.
