Novo Som band awarded Gold Disc after 50 million digital views

On 29 July, Labidad Music Gospel presented a Gold Disc to Brazilian Christian music group Novo Som in recognition of more than 50 million views of the albums “Não é o Fim” and “Passaporte” on digital platforms. The two albums, originally released in 1999 and 1992, were added to streaming services in 2020 through a partnership with NS Record, boosting their audience and reaching a new generation of listeners.

The award ceremony took place during recordings for a forthcoming audiovisual project by the band. Vocalist Alex Gonzaga thanked fans and fellow musicians, while Labidad Music Gospel co‑owner Vanessa Bicalho highlighted the importance of preserving and re‑positioning classic works in Brazil’s Christian music heritage. The milestone underscores the lasting relevance of Novo Som’s catalogue after four decades of activity.
