Nowy Sącz City Council to debate parking, budget, and waste fees

The Nowy Sącz City Council is set to address several municipal issues during its upcoming session on September 15. Key agenda items include changes to the city budget for 2026 and adjustments to parking and waste management regulations.

Regarding parking, a proposal has been made to delay the launch of paid parking zone C from October 1, 2026, to April 1, 2027, due to extended preparation requirements and procurement delays. The new system is intended to align with existing zones A and B and will offer free parking in zone C for holders of the ‘Karta Nowosądeczanina’.

Financial matters include a budget reallocation of over 2.7 million PLN for the construction of a marketplace at al. Wolności. Additionally, the council will consider increasing the upper limits for waste collection fees for property owners not covered by the municipal system. The base rate is proposed to rise by 5 percent, with a limit of 42 PLN for segregated waste and 84 PLN for non-segregated waste from 120-liter containers.

A petition requesting 3 million PLN annually for subsidies for registered historical monuments will also be reviewed, though current proposals suggest it will not be included due to the lack of a municipal resolution defining subsidy rules.
