Nowy Targ and Włocławek approve major sports facility upgrades

The Nowy Targ City Council adopted a resolution to build a second ice‑rink sheet, adding an amendment that also allows for modernisation or construction of a new hall. Councilors debated the wording, with Maciej Fryźlewicz of the Sports Commission noting the compromise was intended “so that every councilor could sign on”. The amendment passed with 11 votes in favour, four against and three abstentions.

In Włocławek, more than 2.5 million zł will be spent to refurbish three multi‑purpose school sports fields. Half of the cost comes from state funding under the Orlik programme, which Jakub Sztejnwald said “we secured funds from the government programme Orlik”. The works will replace damaged elements and include conservation work, improving the facilities for local schools and communities.
