Noxtua secures €100M funding as C. H. Beck takes majority control
Berlin-based legal AI company Noxtua has secured more than €100 million in a Series C funding round. As part of the transaction, German publishing giant C. H. Beck has become the majority shareholder, marking the largest investment in the publisher’s history.
Austrian publisher MANZ has also joined the round as a minority investor. Conversely, international law firms CMS and Dentons have exited their equity positions in Noxtua, though both firms continue to use the platform as commercial customers.
The funding shift highlights a trend of traditional legal publishers moving from mere content providers to active owners of AI technology. By integrating authoritative, jurisdiction-specific legal databases and specialist commentary directly into the AI platform, Noxtua aims to create a competitive European alternative to American legal AI firms. The company currently serves over 30,000 users across several European locations, including Berlin, Paris, and Munich.
