NPFL players receive international call-ups amid Rangers International victory

Four players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) have received international call-ups. Kenneth Igboke of Rangers International, along with Aderemi Adeoye and Michael Atata of Ikorodu City, have been invited to join the Super Eagles for an international friendly against Russia in October.

Additionally, Katsina United goalkeeper Frank Koroma has been called up to the Sierra Leone national team for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

In domestic league action, defending champions Rangers International secured their first win of the 2026/27 season with a 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United. The match, held at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, was a resumed fixture following a rain delay. Chidozie Iwundu and Daniel Itodo provided the goals for Rangers, lifting the team to 8th place in the standings.
