NPIC and Epredia partner to commercialize TANGO pathology technology

The National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) has entered a commercial agreement with Epredia to internationalize TANGO, a novel pathology technology developed by researchers at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

TANGO is a laboratory quality tool designed to enhance digital pathology and artificial intelligence (AI) integration in cancer diagnostics. By improving the consistency and efficiency of laboratory slide staining, the technology addresses variations that can hinder the effectiveness of AI tools and the interpretation of diagnostic results.

Under the agreement, Epredia, a major manufacturer of diagnostic glass slides, will incorporate TANGO into new pathology slide products. This partnership aims to facilitate the global rollout of the technology to pathology laboratories adopting digital workflows, potentially accelerating the speed and quality of cancer diagnostics.
