NPO warns of fraudulent casting scams targeting children

The Dutch Public Broadcasting organization (NPO) has issued a warning following a series of fraudulent emails targeting children and young adults. Scammers are impersonating NPO employees and using the name of the youth channel, NPO Zapp, to solicit inappropriate content.

The perpetrators are using the fake domain “@zappnpo.nl” to contact minors and their parents, claiming to hold auditions for a non-existent youth series titled “Nina’s Zomer”. After receiving a response to the initial contact, victims are reportedly asked to record audition videos based on scripts containing sexual content.

NPO has confirmed that the series does not exist and that the emails are not affiliated with the broadcaster. The organization has alerted broadcasters, producers, and parents, urging them to remain vigilant. NPO has contacted the police regarding the incident and advises anyone receiving such messages not to respond and to report them to the authorities.
