NPP Chairman calls for reconciliation ahead of 2028 elections
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) known as COKA, has called for immediate reconciliation between the party’s newly elected national executives and defeated contestants. Speaking following the party’s national delegates conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Appiah emphasized that building an inclusive party is essential to mounting a strong challenge against the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.
Appiah commended the initial efforts to reconcile with those who lost executive elections and urged the new leadership to maintain this spirit during upcoming parliamentary primaries and campaign strategy development. He noted that the conference, held under the theme ‘One party, one purpose: United for victory’, demonstrated a shared commitment to the party’s future.
Additionally, Appiah expressed confidence in the party’s flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that the delegates' support for him reflects a collective resolve. He asserted that a united executive body supporting a decisive flag bearer would energize the party's rank and file for the upcoming electoral cycle.
