NPP Youth Wing petitions Ghana security over attack allegations

The Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has petitioned Ghana’s National Security Secretariat, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), and the Ghana Police Service to investigate allegations made by Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah.

Owusu Bempah, leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, alleged that Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye, the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, planned to mobilize members of the NPP Nasara Wing to attack him and his church. The prophet reportedly linked these claims to his prophecies regarding NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The NPP Youth Wing has rejected these claims as “wicked, false and entirely without foundation,” stating that Dr. Ayew Afriye has never directed any group to commit violence. The group argued that the allegations transcend political or theological commentary, characterizing them as a direct public accusation of criminal conspiracy against a sitting Member of Parliament. They have called on security agencies to require Prophet Owusu Bempah to provide evidence to substantiate his claims.
