Nördlingen enters national urban development photo contest

The city of Nördlingen is participating in the 2026 national urban development photo competition. A photograph of Gerd-Müller-Platz has been submitted to represent the city, illustrating the competition's theme, “urban development connects.”

The redesigned square serves as a public space for community interaction and honors the memory of the football player Gerd Müller, who was born in Nördlingen. Citizens can vote for the entry online until September 27, 2026.

Mayor David Wittner has invited the public to support the entry, noting that the location exemplifies the connection between urban development, social interaction, and local history. The winning municipality will receive a professional video production of their project.
