NRK Expedition participants depart for Ama Dablam climb in Nepal
A new group of six participants is embarking on a five-week expedition to climb Ama Dablam in Nepal. The team, consisting of Ingerid Stenvold, Petter Nyquist, Fay Wildhagen, Jonas Strand Gravli, Yasmin Mehmood, and Ola Svenneby, aims to reach the 6,814-meter summit.
Following the success of the previous season involving Denali, NRK has selected Ama Dablam for its extreme technical difficulty. Expedition leader Rune Malterud described the mountain as one of the most exposed in the world, characterized by sharp ridges, vertical walls, and steep couloirs where mistakes can have severe consequences. The production includes expedition leader Rune Malterud and physician Stian Hallén.
