NRL and AFL finals races intensify as post-season approaches

The race for the post-season in major Australian sporting leagues is intensifying. In the NRL, with only four rounds remaining, the Penrith Panthers and Sydney Roosters sit at the top of the ladder with 36 points each. The Panthers face challenges following an injury to Isaah Yeo and uncertainty regarding players Dylan Edwards and Mitch Kenny. The New Zealand Warriors currently hold third place, while the Cronulla Sharks occupy fourth.

In the AFL, the wildcard race remains active with two rounds to go. Carlton is positioned to potentially secure the 10th spot, while St Kilda maintains a slim chance for a wildcard position. Fremantle and Sydney appear secure in their high standings, while Hawthorn looks to defend its third-place position following a recent loss.
