NRL issues notices to clubs over head injury assessment usage
The NRL has issued “please explain” notices to two clubs following recent matches, seeking clarification on whether players required head injury assessments (HIAs) after leaving the field.
One specific case involves New Zealand Warriors prop James Fisher-Harris. The NRL contacted the Warriors to inquire about the specific signs that warranted an HIA during a recent clash with the Dolphins. This follows previous instances in the season where Fisher-Harris left the field for head checks after appearing exhausted or following tackles, including incidents in Canberra and against St George Illawarra.
