Nürnberg–München ICE line disrupted by signal box failure
A defective signal box in Fischbach near Nürnberg caused significant disruptions to rail traffic on the high-speed line between Nürnberg and München. The failure, which began around 9:00 AM, forced ICE and regional trains to wait at various locations and led to cancellations and delays of up to 40 minutes.
Deutsche Bahn reported that some long-distance services were diverted via Treuchtlingen and Augsburg, adding approximately 30 minutes to travel times. Additionally, ICE connections from Vienna toward Dortmund were rerouted from Regensburg to München. While service began to resume slowly by the afternoon, passengers were advised to expect continued delays and occasional cancellations.
