NSC party leadership resigns following chaotic general meeting

The Nieuw Sociaal Contract (NSC) party is facing a leadership crisis following the resignation of its entire board during a general members' meeting in Breda. The meeting descended into chaos due to disagreements over the agenda and the prevention of certain critical motions from being voted upon. Acting chairman Ronald de Bruin described the situation as “not workable” after a brief suspension.

The unrest follows a wave of high-profile departures, including former MPs Ilse Saris and Harm Holman, as well as MEP Dirk Gotink. These members cited dissatisfaction with the party's perceived shift toward a more right-wing and populist direction.

Tensions peaked during the congress when the board invited Mona Keijzer, a non-party MP promoting her own movement, Project 2029, to speak. Her appearance prompted many members to demonstratively walk out of the hall. The party is currently operating without a formal leader and is attempting to navigate its future direction and course.
