Nscale and Anthropic negotiate $45 billion AI computing deal

Nscale, an Nvidia-backed cloud computing and AI infrastructure provider, is in negotiations with Anthropic for a new computing power agreement valued at approximately $45 billion. The proposed deal involves a second facility at the Monarch data center campus located in Mason County, West Virginia.

The planned facility is expected to provide 460 megawatts of capacity and will utilize Nvidia’s advanced Vera Rubin AI chips. This potential agreement follows a previous deal reached in August between the two companies, which also involved approximately $45 billion in infrastructure commitments. Anthropic reportedly holds a right of first refusal for a third building at the Monarch campus.

The negotiations come as both companies prepare for potential market debuts. Nscale is targeting a valuation of approximately $30 billion for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). Anthropic is also preparing for a potential IPO, with some reports suggesting a valuation that could reach as high as $2 trillion.
