Nscale appoints Fidji Simo to board ahead of potential IPO

Nscale, a UK-based artificial intelligence data center startup, has appointed Fidji Simo to its board of directors. Simo, who previously served as the CEO of AGI Deployment at OpenAI, brings extensive experience in scaling large-scale platforms and managing initial public offerings (IPOs).

Simo’s professional background includes serving as CEO of Instacart, where she led the company through its 2023 IPO, and spending over a decade at Meta, including leadership roles for the Facebook application. She joins an existing board that includes prominent technology figures such as Sheryl Sandberg, Susan Decker, and Nick Clegg.

The appointment is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen corporate governance ahead of a potential IPO. Nscale is currently expanding its AI computing infrastructure to meet rising demand and is reportedly planning to raise approximately $3.5 billion in capital prior to going public.
