NSCDC intensifies fight against kidnapping and banditry in Oyo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command in Oyo has pledged to intensify operations against kidnapping and banditry within the state. Commandant Augustine Padonu stated that the command is increasing its presence to combat criminal activities, particularly around the Old Oyo National Park.

To achieve this, the NSCDC has expanded its Agro-Rangers operational bases in Saki and Oyo from one to two bases each. The command is also utilizing its 78 divisional offices, 11 area commands, and specialized anti-terrorism units to block criminal routes and protect rural farm settlements. Additionally, special forces from Abuja have been deployed to assist local personnel in pursuing kidnappers and other criminal elements.
