The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has issued a congratulatory message to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Christian community in celebration of CAN’s 50th anniversary.
In a statement signed by Secretary-General Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the NSCIA described the anniversary as a significant milestone for both the Christian community and the Nigerian nation. The Council emphasized that religious leaders have played a vital role in promoting peace, dialogue, and coexistence during the country’s various challenges.
The NSCIA highlighted the shared responsibility between Nigeria’s Muslim and Christian populations to promote security, justice, and national development. The Council expressed appreciation for platforms like the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) that facilitate constructive engagement between the two faiths to address national issues such as insecurity, poverty, and social inequality.
