NSIA Banque Côte d’Ivoire reports H1 2026 profit decline
NSIA Banque Côte d’Ivoire reported a decline in net profit for the first half of 2026, falling to 14.5 billion FCFA from 16.3 billion FCFA in the same period the previous year. This decrease occurred despite a 6% increase in net banking income, which reached 53.7 billion FCFA.
The decline in profitability is primarily attributed to a higher net risk charge, which rose to 6.5 billion FCFA from 4.2 billion FCFA a year earlier. The bank stated that this increase resulted from a detailed review of its loan portfolio and increased provisioning for certain borrowers to cover credit and operational risks.
While customer deposits grew by 15% compared to June 2025, outstanding loans declined as customers repaid seasonal business loans. Although operating profit before risk-related charges rose by 5% to 22.8 billion FCFA, the increased provisions weighed heavily on the final bottom line. The bank's financial statements did not disclose a specific non-performing loan ratio, limiting a full assessment of the overall loan portfolio quality.
