Ønskeskyen partners with SKJOLDET to combat online fraud

The wishlist platform Ønskeskyen has partnered with the Danish anti-fraud service SKJOLDET to implement new security measures aimed at protecting users from fraudulent webshops. The technology, which has already launched in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, warns users when they attempt to add products from suspicious websites.

If a user proceeds to save a wish from a flagged site, the system will issue a secondary warning to friends and family when they click the link to purchase the gift. Preliminary tests indicate the system successfully identifies nearly 90% of fraudulent websites registered by SKJOLDET. This initiative follows reports indicating that 34% of Danes have experienced online fraud, with approximately one in five victims targeted by fake shopping sites.
