NSW farmers visit Parliament to discuss renewable energy zones

A group of New South Wales farmers, led by RE-Alliance, is visiting Parliament in Sydney to discuss renewable energy projects and their impact on regional communities. The visit occurs as the NSW government prepares to release its response to the Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) inquiry at the end of October.

Monica Morona, whose family farm on the Hay Plains is slated to host the proposed Pottinger Energy Park—a project developed by Someva Renewables and AGL Energy—will share her experiences. Morona emphasized the importance of community-focused development and neighborhood benefit schemes to ensure that local residents see economic advantages from hosting renewable infrastructure.
