NSW Police arrest 15 people during transport crackdown
The NSW Police Transport Command conducted ‘Operation Disrupt’, a two-day crackdown targeting criminal activity on public transport networks and nearby shopping areas across the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
Operating in Newcastle, Tuggerah Lakes, Wyong, and Gosford, the operation resulted in 15 arrests and 23 charges. Police also detected two knives and issued 39 rail infringements. NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley praised the proactive policing, noting that recent state government legislation has implemented some of the toughest knife laws in Australia to help remove dangerous weapons from communities.
