NSW Police charge 19-year-old in Alameddine relative shooting attempt
NSW Police have charged 19-year-old David Kulitapa in connection with a botched assassination attempt targeting a relative of the Alameddine crime family. The incident occurred in June in Fairfield, where a gunman allegedly pointed a handgun at a 44-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter as they sat in a parked vehicle at a school. The weapon reportedly jammed, and neither victim was injured.
Investigators believe the targets were selected solely due to their familial connection to organized crime figures, despite having no criminal histories themselves. The case is being handled by Taskforce Falcon, a police initiative established to combat rising gangland violence in Sydney.
Following a raid on a home in Cronulla and a subsequent stop in Sans Souci, Kulitapa was charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of attempting to shoot with intent to murder, directing criminal activities, and drug-related charges. He is scheduled to appear in Sutherland Local Court.
