NSW police seize large weapons cache in Fitzgeralds Mount raid

Police executed a search warrant on July 7, 2026, at a rural property on the Mid‑Western Highway at Fitzgeralds Mount, east of Blayney, New South Wales. The operation uncovered a substantial weapons hoard, including five firearms, ammunition, a suppressor, knuckle dusters and a crossbow.

A 58‑year‑old man was taken to Blayney Police Station on July 8, then transferred to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with 16 offences. The charges encompass possession of prohibited weapons without a permit, supply of a prohibited drug, possession of unauthorised firearms, possession of unregistered firearms, and failure to keep firearms safely. Bail was refused.
