NSW to reduce Bradfield Park worksite near Sydney Harbour Bridge
The NSW Government has announced plans to scale back the maintenance worksite at Bradfield Park, located beside the northern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This move aims to return more of the park to public use while maintaining necessary space for bridge maintenance, such as repainting and rust removal.
To facilitate this, the government will install upgraded hoardings and foliage around the site. Transport for NSW is scheduled to deliver landscaping, improved drainage, and new turf in 2027 to address erosion. Additionally, Bradfield Plaza at the northern end of the park will be extended with paved areas intended for markets and community events.
The government will work with the North Sydney Council on further improvements, including new vegetation and furniture, as part of a long-term master plan for the park. These upgrades are being planned ahead of the bridge’s centenary in 2032.
