NSW Waratahs and New Zealand Blues to clash in Women's Super Rugby Champions Final
The NSW Waratahs will host New Zealand's Blues at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney for the Women’s Super Rugby Champions Final. The Waratahs, three‑time Super Rugby Women champions, earned their place by defeating the Fijian Drua in the Grand Final, while the Blues arrived as three‑peat winners of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki competition.
The match is a repeat of last year’s inaugural cross‑Tasman showdown, which the Blues won 36‑5 in Auckland. Waratahs head coach Mike Ruthven said his side has a different mindset this time, aiming to reverse the previous result. Winger Amelia Whitaker has been promoted to the starting lineup after Desiree Miller was ruled out with a calf injury, and Lusiana Vesikula joins the bench as the only other change.
The Blues have also made adjustments due to injuries, inserting hooker Grace Gago and bringing back Eloise Blackwell among others. Both teams will look to claim the inaugural Champions Final title in front of a home crowd.
