The Association of NSZ Soldiers has issued an open letter to Poland's Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Marta Cieńkowska, demanding action following controversial remarks made by Professor Dariusz Stola. Stola, the director of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, drew criticism for ideologically comparing the National Armed Forces (NSZ) and the National Radical Camp (ONR) to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA).

While press reports indicate that Stola clarified that the NSZ and UPA were not the same and that the NSZ was not responsible for the Volhynia massacres, the Association described the comparison itself as deeply offensive and historically unjust. The organization has called on the Minister to officially condemn the remarks and to consider dismissing Stola from his position at the POLIN Museum.

The Association also requested government support for efforts to protect the reputation of the NSZ and other Polish underground formations. The NSZ, founded in 1942, was a major military organization of the Polish underground, and its merits were officially recognized by the Sejm in a 2017 resolution.
