Funding Societies Secures Multi-Year Financing Facility from Malaysia Debt Ventures

Funding Societies Malaysia has obtained a multi‑year working‑capital financing facility from Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance (Incorporated). The facility will expand the digital platform’s ability to provide financing to technology‑driven and underserved small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) across Malaysia. MDV, which has supported the platform since 2022, said the new funding will reach thousands of businesses at scale, aligning with Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 to help firms move up the value chain. Funding Societies has already disbursed about US$1.8 billion to more than 10,000 Malaysian businesses, while MDV has approved over US$3.5 billion for technology projects since 2002. The partnership aims to accelerate SME growth, job creation and higher incomes by leveraging alternative data for faster, lower‑cost credit assessment.
