NTT Data to host XR animal museum workshops at National Museum of Nature and Science

NTT Data and NTT Data NJK are hosting a series of XR-based educational workshops titled “You are the Director! Let’s Make an Animal Museum” at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo. The program, part of the “NTT Data Academia” social contribution initiative, is scheduled for October 31 and November 29, 2026.

Participants, ranging from elementary to junior high school students, will use XR (Extended Reality) technology to interact with digital 3D models of animal specimens from the museum’s archives. Using the browser-based platform “STYLY. biz,” students will create their own virtual museum exhibits by arranging animals in digital environments such as forests or grasslands.

The workshop package was co-developed to combine natural science learning with creative digital production. The technology is designed to be highly reproducible, allowing for similar educational programs to be deployed in various settings or online by changing the digital content and themes.
