NTT Docomo to introduce late payment fees in 2027

NTT Docomo has announced the introduction of a new “late payment collection administrative fee” for customers who fail to pay their bills by the specified due date.

Starting with billing cycles in February 2027, a fee of 385 yen will be charged if the company has to issue documents notifying the customer of payment requests, service suspension, or contract termination. The fee will be billed in the month following the issuance of the relevant notification. Currently, payments for “Docomo Gas” are exempt from this new administrative fee.
