NU Lady Bulldogs defeat UE Lady Warriors in UAAP women's basketball

The National University Lady Bulldogs secured a 76-63 victory over the University of the East Lady Warriors in the UAAP Season 89 Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Following a loss to the University of Santo Tomas, the win improves NU's record to 3-1, while UE remains winless at 0-4.

UE initially controlled the game, holding a 23-16 lead in the second quarter. However, NU closed the first half with a 5-0 run to lead 40-38 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs dominated the third quarter, limiting UE to only seven points and extending their lead to 57-47 before the final period.

Tin Cayabyab led NU with 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Marga Villanueva also contributed 17 points, including five successful three-pointers. For UE, Kezza Buscar scored 18 points, while Moana Vacalares recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
