Nualphan Lamsam leads Thai football as FAT President

Nualphan Lamsam, widely known as Madam Pang, has emerged as a prominent figure in both Thai business and sports. A fifth-generation descendant of the influential Lamsam family—founders of Kasikornbank—she holds significant roles in the insurance and luxury retail sectors, including serving as CEO of Muang Thai Insurance.

In the sporting world, Lamsam made history as the first female President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), having been elected in February 2024. Her transition to the FAT presidency followed her departure from the chairmanship of Port FC in late 2023, a move intended to address potential conflicts of interest regarding her oversight of the national football system.

Her previous contributions to Thai football include managing the national women’s team, which secured historic World Cup appearances in 2015 and 2019. Financial disclosures from 2021 indicated that Lamsam and her husband reported a combined annual income of approximately 110 million baht, with her personal earnings derived from salaries, dividends, and various investments.
