Nubank offers financial tools as Brazil's home renovation demand rises
A recent survey by the joint venture Juntos Somos Mais, involving Votorantim Cimentos, Gerdau and Tigre, found that one in three Brazilians plans to renovate their homes in 2025, with bathrooms and bedrooms the most common projects. Credit cards are the preferred payment method, but the survey highlights alternative financing options. Nubank promotes several solutions: the Turbo Savings account (Caixinha Turbo) that yields 115% of the CDI for regular users and 120% for Nubank+ customers, and a low‑interest CLT‑linked payroll loan for salaried workers.
Architects Ana Martín, Lara Muñoz and Ángela Hernando of Emmme Interiorismo caution that many renovation owners begin with aesthetic choices rather than functional needs. They recommend first mapping daily routines within the space, investing in “invisible” comfort such as insulation, efficient climate control and detailed electrical work, and appointing a single project manager to coordinate all trades, thereby reducing stress and long‑term dissatisfaction.
