Nubia NaviX Ultra AI agent smartphone receives regulatory approval
The Nubia NaviX Ultra, positioned as the world’s first mass-produced ‘AI agent’ smartphone, has received network access approval from China’s MIIT. Developed through a collaboration between ZTE and ByteDance, the device features the integrated Doubao language assistant.
To enhance security and privacy, core large model computations are performed locally on the device, meaning user data does not need to be uploaded to the cloud. The device is designed to handle multi-step tasks across different software, such as price comparisons and itinerary planning, through natural semantic understanding.
Technical specifications reported include a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a potential Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 processor. The hardware is expected to feature a large 7000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities and a high-resolution camera system. The official market launch is scheduled for September 2026.
