Nubia NaviX Ultra AI smartphone to debut September 16

Nubia has announced the launch of the NaviX Ultra, a flagship smartphone positioned as a new generation of AI-powered devices. Scheduled to debut on September 16, the phone is being developed jointly by ZTE and ByteDance and is expected to feature the Doubao Phone Assistant, leading some to refer to it as the second-generation ‘Doubao phone’.

Unlike previous AI approaches that relied on GUI-based interaction—such as reading screens and simulating human-like taps—the NaviX Ultra has reportedly adjusted its cooperation model with major platforms like Alibaba and Tencent to avoid these methods after user authorization.

Hardware specifications are expected to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 chipset and a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting fast charging. Additionally, Nubia has partnered with ChangXin Memory Technologies to equip the device with LPDDR5X memory reaching speeds of 10,667Mbps, marking the first mass-produced commercial application of high-speed domestic mobile DRAM.
