Nucksal criticizes South Korean childcare support policies

South Korean rapper Nucksal, a father of two, has sparked public debate following his strong criticism of the government's low birth rate and childcare support policies. During an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘Annyeonghan Saem-yo’, Nucksal expressed frustration regarding the adequacy of current financial incentives.

He noted that while government benefits have changed over the last four years, the support remains insufficient. He specifically criticized the fact that current subsidies are often limited to a one-year period, stating that those who have children should be “treated like heroes” given the current national demographic crisis. Nucksal argued that the state should provide more aggressive and practical support to encourage childbearing, rather than treating it solely as an individual choice.

His remarks have led to divided opinions online. Some netizens expressed agreement, citing concerns over career interruptions and the economic burdens of parenting, while others argued that South Korea's welfare system is already competitive compared to other nations.
