Nuclear energy initiatives scheduled in Bra and Lecce

Various initiatives focused on nuclear energy and its role in the future energy landscape are taking place in Italy. In Bra, the international event ‘Stand Up for Nuclear’ will be held on October 10 and 11 in Piazza Bra. This initiative aims to foster a debate based on scientific data regarding nuclear technologies, decarbonization, energy security, and waste management, moving away from ideological stances.

Simultaneously, the University of Salento is organizing a ‘Nuclear Energy Week’ in Lecce and Brindisi. The program includes specialized seminars on nuclear fusion and fission, covering topics such as sustainability, safety, and climate impacts. The week will conclude on October 10 with a public event in Lecce featuring institutional representatives and academic experts, including Professor Ambrogio Fasoli from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
