Nuclearn launches Equipment AI platform to speed nuclear alarm response

Arizona‑based nuclear software firm Nuclearn has introduced Equipment AI, a platform that unifies live sensor data with decades of maintenance records, operator logs, condition reports, design documents and maintenance procedures into a single workflow for nuclear power plants. The system enables engineers to assess equipment health in real time, reducing the time needed to diagnose problems and respond to alarms.

Company CEO Brad Fox said the tool tackles alarm fatigue and the loss of institutional knowledge as veteran engineers retire, by presenting historical plant experience at the moment of need. Equipment AI integrates with existing plant historian, work‑order and condition‑reporting systems and includes traceability and audit features to meet strict regulatory requirements. The platform is already deployed at several nuclear facilities, where utilities have reported faster alarm response times, though specific plants were not disclosed.
