Nueva Esparta police arrest three for domestic violence and attempted femicide

Police in Nueva Esparta state have arrested three men for domestic violence and attempted femicide across the municipalities of Maneiro, Díaz, and Mariño on Margarita Island.

In the Díaz municipality, authorities captured a 39-year-old man who allegedly attempted to asphyxiate his partner and spray her with gasoline in an attempt to set her on fire. The attempt failed due to a faulty lighter, and the suspect subsequently attempted to attack the victim with an axe before being stopped by witnesses.

In Maneiro, a 32-year-old man was arrested at his workplace following a formal complaint of physical aggression filed by his former partner. Additionally, in the Mariño municipality, a 44-year-old man was detained in the La Arboleda sector following reports of physical aggression.
