Argentina’s July cultural calendar: book fair, sculpture Biennale and Día del Amigo celebrations

Argentina hosts a series of high‑profile cultural events in July 2026. The Feria Internacional del Libro de Gualeguaychú runs on 24‑26 July in the Puerto Port warehouses and the Teatro del Puerto, offering author talks, book‑launches every 20 minutes, a literary café and a rotating stand for independent writers.

The Bienal Internacional de Escultura in Resistencia (Chaco) continues its third edition, with ten international sculptors working in marble and steel in public view at the Domo del Centenario. The provincial Ministry of Education has installed a mobile “Saberes Digitales” workshop on site, equipped with 3‑D printers and digital‑skills training, while the New Bank of Chaco (NBCH) sponsors the “Espacio Sinergia” program that combines art exhibitions with financial‑education activities.

July 20 marks the national Día del Amigo, a holiday created in 1969 after the Apollo 11 moon landing. Across the country the day is celebrated with gatherings, special menus and events such as the Alfajores & Co. festival in Tandil, which features more than 20 local and regional producers offering hundreds of alfajor varieties and charitable activities for a children’s hospital. The Casa Nacional del Bicentenario in Buenos Aires also hosts multiple exhibitions and guided tours during the same period. These overlapping programmes turn July into a concentrated showcase of Argentine literature, visual arts, culinary traditions and community celebrations.
