Regional financial updates: Banking services and subsidies in Argentina and Uruguay
Various financial and administrative updates have been announced across Argentina and Uruguay.
In Chubut, Argentina, the government has expanded a public transport benefit for October. Users paying with a Banco del Chubut MasterDebit card via NFC-enabled Android phones can receive a 100% refund on fares, up to a monthly limit of $25,000.
In Chaco, Argentina, the Nuevo Banco del Chaco (NBCH) has introduced several services. These include 'Adelanto Chaco 24' for interest-free purchases ahead of salary payments, an 'aguinaldo' (bonus) advance loan for public and private sector employees, and a debt regularization program for clients with several months of arrears to help reorganize payments.
Additionally, in Corrientes, Argentina, toll stations at Santa Ana and Ituzaingó will transition to exclusively electronic payments starting October 6, accepting cards, QR codes, and Telepase, but no longer cash.
In Uruguay, the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS) is enabling the early renewal of loans for retirees and pensioners throughout October. This allows users to consolidate existing loan balances into new ones with updated terms via an online portal.
