Nuevo Laredo inaugurates Science and Technology Museum

Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal have inaugurated the Museum of Science, Technology, and Planetarium in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. The project involved transforming a long-unused elevated water tank into a modern scientific dissemination center.

The facility covers approximately 4,546 square meters and represents an investment of 277.5 million pesos. The complex includes a Science Pavilion, interactive exhibitions, and dedicated spaces for astronomy, nature, and the human body. A central feature is the planetarium located inside the former water tank, which is equipped with laser dome projection, a DIGISTAR system, and surround sound to provide immersive cosmic exploration experiences.

Officials stated the project aims to provide educational opportunities for children and youth, fostering scientific curiosity and preparing new generations for future challenges by repurposing an abandoned urban monument into a center for learning.
