Nuevo Laredo Mayor reports major public works and security gains

Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, the Mayor of Nuevo Laredo, has reported significant administrative achievements, including over 7.49 billion pesos invested in public works since 2021. This investment includes approximately 2.5 billion pesos dedicated to underground infrastructure and the replacement of more than 60 kilometers of collectors.

Canturosas Villarreal highlighted the early liquidation of municipal debt and improvements in public safety. She noted that the border city has seen a decrease in crime and risk situations, claiming the city has gone nearly three years without certain types of high-risk incidents due to coordination between different levels of government.

Regarding her political future, the Mayor stated she is focused on completing her current term but did not rule out running for office in 2028, stating, “Let the future decide.”
