Nuevo Laredo officials deny 24-hour operation of Bridge III
Authorities in Nuevo Laredo have denied rumors circulating on social media regarding the immediate 24-hour operation of the Puente Internacional III Comercio Mundial. Edgardo Pedraza, president of the Foreign Trade Commission of the Nuevo Laredo Council, clarified that no definitive agreement has been reached between Mexican and United States authorities to expand the crossing's hours to a continuous 24-hour schedule.
During a binational meeting in Laredo, Texas, involving Congressman Henry Cuellar and representatives from customs in Laredo and Colombia, officials discussed infrastructure expansion and methods to expedite freight flow. While the long-term goal remains achieving permanent operation, current efforts are focused on proposals to gradually increase service hours, such as extending operations by three hours on specific days.
