Nuevo Laredo opens new primary school in El Progreso

The municipal government of Nuevo Laredo has completed construction of a new primary school in the Ejido El Progreso. The two‑story facility includes 12 climate‑controlled classrooms, administrative offices and other services, representing an investment of more than 36 million pesos. Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal announced that enrollment will run from 11 to 14 August 2026, with a capacity for approximately 456 students from El Progreso, Valles de Anáhuac, Reservas Territoriales and nearby neighborhoods. The school will operate in the morning shift and has been assigned the work‑center key 28DPR0115D by the Tamaulipas State Education Secretariat, with support from Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.

Families must submit three copies of the enrollment form, birth certificate, CURP, previous‑grade report card and vaccination record for the child, plus voter ID, CURP and proof of address for the parent or guardian.
