Nuevo Laredo prepares museum opening and international festival
Nuevo Laredo is preparing for significant cultural developments. Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal announced that the new Museum of Science, Technology, and Planetarium has entered its pre-operational stage. While the facility has been ready for approximately six weeks, the city is currently conducting functional tests, hiring staff, and training young guides. Local high school students have begun participating in trial tours to help identify areas for improvement before the museum officially opens to the general public.
Additionally, the city will host the XXXIII International Festival in the Mexican Gulf Coast from October 2 to 11. The festival will feature 21 free shows across various cultural venues, including the Teatro Principal and Parque Viveros. The program includes international talent from countries such as Argentina, Senegal, France, Ireland, Australia, and the United States, alongside local performers.
