Tamaulipas officials inaugur new primary school and rural development projects

In Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Mayor Carmen Lilia Cantúrosas Villarreal inaugurated the “Profa. Beatriz Anaya de Villarreal” primary school. Located in the El Progreso neighborhood, the facility will serve nearly 400 students and is part of a broader state effort to strengthen educational infrastructure in the border region.

In a separate initiative, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) has consolidated a strategic project focused on the sustainable use of laurel in Jaumave. Led by Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, the project includes the inauguration of a specialized laboratory to transform traditional laurel harvesting into an agro-industrial model. The initiative aims to foster rural entrepreneurship through the development of scientific formulations, such as new seasoning products, supported by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Rural Development.
